Obituary for
Lillian Maria Kreher (Mihalich)
Lillian (Mihalich) Kreher passed quietly at home on Friday, March 29 after celebrating 94 years of life. Lillian was active and fun-loving and brought joy to everyone who knew her. She danced her entire life performing Flamingo, tap, ballet, and was a multiple medal winner at the Harvest Moon Ball ballroom competitions in New York in the 40’s. She worked for Kayser-Roth/Liz Claiborne Accessory Division as an office manager for more than 35 years until she was 75 when she decided to hone her artistic talents and attend Kingsboro Community College art classes. Many have original paintings by Nana Lill. Lillian was the founding President and a lifelong member of the Samuel Cardinal Stritch Council of the Columbiettes. She served as their chief choreographer and show director since 1960 and brought smiles and laughter to everyone who participated. Lillian was a devoted wife and partner to her husband Walter, the love of her life for 44 years until he passed. She supported, cared for and deeply loved her three children, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Lillian was a devoted friend to so many whom where fortunate to know her.
Lillian is survived by her daughters Daria Kreher (Rhode Island), Donna Finger, daughter in law, Maria (DeSantis) Kreher, grandchildren Olivia Pogan, Gina Bacchi, Jillian Valerio, Michelle Kreher, Alexandra Denniston, Walter Kreher, spouses and three great grandsons.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at Scarpaci Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, April 1 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Bernadette’s RC Church.
