Condolence: Our Nonna, Rita Berti! She was an extraordinary lady that lived an amazing and exciting life. Her persona and smile always lit up the room. She was always so elegant and wanted to do her best especially for those she loved. Her love for my Dad was amazing. She was so excited each year for his birthday and treated it as a Holiday. She would a make a huge feast of all his favorite dishes and was so happy to have all of us there celebrating. Nonna you always made the holidays so special and exciting for Francesco and I. You were so happy when I got married to Frank or as you called him “Franco”. You were so over joyed to sing at our wedding and that made it extra special.

I remember as a child all your glorious stories of places you visited and all the cool people you met and sometimes sang with. My most fascinating memory was watching you sing on stage. I wanted to be just like you. It made me so excited to bring you flowers after your show. I will keep those memories among many others of you close to my heart forever.

Our Nonna was a beautiful and talented singer. She really new how to get the crowd going. All her hard work and dedication for music really was remarkable. Her love for songs that she sang was clearly expressed when she sang them. I hope my daughter Alessandra keeps on singing and follows in your footsteps. She reminds me of you in so many ways, Nonna.

Our Nonna Rita Berti became know as La Stella Della Canzone Napoletana or the Star of the Neopolitan Song. Oh how I could picture you in Heaven among all the beautiful angles wearing a white Crystal gown and singing for them all. Making them all smile and sing along with you.

Nonna, May you rest peacefully in the hands of God and watch over us always.
