Diane Mendez, 57, of Brooklyn, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 13, 2021, in the MICU at NYU Langone Brooklyn Hospital. She fought strong till her last moments battling many underlying health conditions and COVID-19. It is important to highlight that she passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter and husband.

Diane was born June 17, 1963. She married Felix Mendez at St. Michael’s Church in Brooklyn in 1985. In 1993 she gave birth to her daughter Amanda Nicole.Her passion included teaching which she did for 34.5 years through the New York City Department of Education at PS 94. Diane loved everything Disney, music, and romance novels.

Diane leaves behind her inconsolable husband (Felix), daughter (Amanda), mother (Julia), father (Emerenciano), brother (Edward), sister - in law (Michele), her nieces/god daughters (Alexa & Victoria), and countless cousins, aunts, and uncles.
