Obituary for
Madeline Barry (Ponciano)
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Madeline “Ducky” Barry, 86, on July 31, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn on February 18, 1937 to Felix and Helen Ponciano.
Ducky was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved her family fiercely. Her laughter and bright spirit could light up any room. She was the life of the party who loved to spend time playing cards, bowling, doing makeup, and shopping. She always fed her loved ones, cooking up a storm and giving away her collection of favorite candies. You could always find her dressed to impress at her favorite slots in the casino.
Madeline is survived by her children Joseph (Josephine) Barry, Harvey (Rokiah) Barry, Steve (Anna) Barry, Ruth Barry, and Robert Barry, her sisters, Barbara Baslin and Lorraine Capone, her grandchildren, David Barry, Nicole Blankiet, Daniel (Nuirka) Blankiet, Aisha Barry, Samantha Agostino, Jared (Reina) Barry, Andrea (Cesar) Arias, Paul (Kaitlyn) Barry, Victoria (Vincent) Fortunato, and Raymond Barry, her great-grandchildren, Valentina Agostino, Vanessa Agostino, Michael Barry, Grace Barry, Brandon Arias, and Jaden Barry, her companion, Thomas Geise, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Raymond Barry, her son Ricky Barry, her brother, Peter “Booby” Ponciano and her sister, Margie Agostinacchio.
Services will be held on August 2, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., ending at 9:00 p.m., at Scarpaci Funeral Home, 1401 86th Street, Brooklyn, New York. The funeral will be private.
