Vincent Tumminelli
Vincent Tumminelli, 96, passed away on December, 10th, 2023 after a long happy life.
Vincent was born on September 17, 1927 to parents Peter and Nicolena Tumminelli in New York City.
Vincent graduated from the School of Industrial Art and was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army Air Corp.
After moving to Brooklyn, Vincent met his wife Laurita. Vincent and Laurita married in 1948 and went on to have 3 children, Claudia Marie, Linda Ann and Peter Vincent.
With a great talent for art and design Vincent worked in advertising and marketing for many years as an employee of JRJ Associates.
After a successful career Vincent retired in 1997 at the age of 70 to spend time on his passions and hobbies. Vincent loved gardening, he was a brilliant artist and enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He was a sports fan dedicated to the NY Mets, NY Giants and his beloved NY Rangers.
His greatest joy came in spending time with his 7 grandchildren. He was happiest when spending time with Kristen, Michael, Danielle, Francesca, Peter, Victoria and Joseph. He proudly attended as many hockey games, dance recitals, soccer matches and school plays as possible. He spent countless Sunday dinners with them making them laugh and was lovingly known as their G-pa.
Vincent became a great grandfather in 2012 with the birth of Aiden. He went on to welcome Luke, James, Lena, Jacob, Anjelica, Savanna and most recently Frank in 2022. Each day he spent with them was a blessing that brought him immeasurable joy.
Vincent was predeceased by his parents Peter and Nicolena, his wife Laurita and his older brother Joseph. He is survived by his three children Claudia, Linda and Peter, his 7 grandchildren and his 8 great-grandchildren.
Vincent was talented, funny and beloved by all who knew him. He was a first generation American and a patriot who loved and served his country. He will leave behind a legacy of love, creativity and humor by way of his adoring family who will deeply miss him.
