Obituary for
Mazie Camera (Morello)
Our beloved Amazing Mazie, who cared for all her family, young and old, who would hug, kiss, and squeeze you until you couldn't stand it, has passed away. We're going to miss those hugs and kisses dearly.
Mazie Camera was born in Brooklyn, New York, on May 18th, 1926, to Mary and Frank Morello. She passed on December 12, 2023, peacefully in her sleep. She had a strong mind, a great sense of humor, and a loving heart. She loved to dance and sing and loved to be around people.
A devout Catholic, she attended Mass at St. Michael's Church in Brooklyn every Sunday and loved to pray to the Blessed Mother.
She is preceded in death by almost everyone she knew and grew up with, most especially her parents, Mary and Frank Morello, all her siblings Frank Morello, Anthony Morello, and Grace DiLiberti; Sisters in law Marie and Diane Morello, along with nephews Frank Morello III, Vinny DeVito, Joseph DiLiberti, and last but not least her loving husband Dominick.
She met Dominick at her sister Grace's wedding. Even though they weren't partners in the bridal party, Dominick would ask Mazie to dance. He could not take his eyes off her. She felt bad for his partner, and Dominick said, "But I want to be with you."
And they were together, almost 50 years just one year shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Now, they are united in love that transcends time and space, dancing together among the stars.
Mazie is survived by her loving children Arlene Camera, Frank Camera, and Maryanne Camera Eagleson, son-in-law Tim Eagleson, and Granddaughter Tomasina, all of whom she was very proud of. Mazie would also want to acknowledge all her loving cousins, nieces and nephews, godchildren and grandnieces and grandnephews.
